This annual symposium brings together international scientists and practitioners who want to exchange experiences, findings and questions regarding the Moral Competence Test (MCT) and the Konstanz Method of Dilemma Discussion (KMDD). Since Dr. Lind published the first objective Moral Competence Test (MCT) in the mid-1970s, moral competence has become an important new topic in psychology, education, philosophy, political science and many other fields. Many experimental and correlational studies show its great importance for our social behaviour (law-abiding, staying honest, keeping contracts, rejecting false authority, helping, mental health, whistle-blowing, swift decision-making, learning performance, etc.), which are vital for living together in a pluralistic democracy. With the versatile Konstanz Method of Dilemma-Discussion (KMDD), we have now a very effective method for fostering moral competence in young (from age 8 upwards) and old in virtually all educational contexts and all cultures.
